We told you we’ve been busy! Three months ago we launched the Miso iPhone app. Last month we launched the web version of Miso and added Google Ventures as an investor. Today we are excited to announce the completion of the Miso iPad app.
We believe the iPad is the most optimal second screen experience — it’s laid-back, it’s visual, the screen is bigger, and we believe, there is no better social experience to create for the iPad than something you do while you watch TV. We’ve seen statistics from a survey of 150 iPad owners in which 98% them said that they use the iPad while watching TV at least once a day
LOOK at the iPad ads. What does the future look like? You’re sitting at home, watching “The Good Guys“, you open up Miso, you check-in, share what you watch, see stats while you’re watching in Miso, chat with friends. This is where we are headed. This is what the iPad is for.
Miso is no longer just an iPhone app — we’re a social entertainment platform that makes watching content more fun. And we’re only 0.1% of where we plan to be.
This is our alpha version of Miso for iPad. The iPad has everything you could do on the iPhone – but a slicker interface designed for the iPad plus some more cool features. To highlight:
- Check-in to TV shows, movies, and online content.
- Share what you are watching with your friends on Miso, Facebook, and Twitter.
- Find friends who are also on Miso.
- Earn badges for checking-in.
We’ve also added some new features on the iPad that you can find on the iPhone too:
- Better navigation. Click on friends and posters directly from the Miso Feed.
- Follow your friends and make new friends.
- New Badges Page. We’re getting more organized so you can see the different types of badges, click each badge for more detail and, yes, finally, learn how to get badges!
The Miso team has submitted the iPad application to Apple for approval, and we are anticipating a release date within the next few weeks.
I can’t wait for this. It’s going to be amazing.
Oh man, what a disappointment — an update to Miso finally showed up in the App Store just now, indicating that it’s an universal app now…! So I downloaded and installed it to my iPad only to find out that it’s still just an iPhone app…!? What happened…?!?

Ah, never mind — must have been some mess-up in the Apo Store…! Now the correct vision seems to be up there and it’s working just fine on my iPad…!
