Check-in to Episodes on Miso!

The Miso team is very excited to release several new features now available on the iPhone, iPad, and Android.

Check-in to Episodes.

  1. Find the show you are watching. On the check-in screen you’ll see “Choose a specific episode”
  2. Search by Recent Episodes or search All Episodes by Season.

Checking in to an episode is totally optional, we let you control how much or how little you want to share. This feature is coming soon to gomiso.com.

Find Shows Faster. On the iPad you can quickly see a list of your favorite and trending shows. No matter where in the app you navigate, it remains on the left hand side in landscape mode.

Add missing shows. When your show isn’t in Miso you can now add it permanently — right from your mobile app! You’ll never have to retype it again. This is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android (shown below).

Let us know what you think of the new features!

We are working on a bunch of new updates to the web and we are rolling out those features all at the same time. We didn’t want to hold up releasing episodes on the apps just because of this. Stay tuned!

You need to put seasons on every serie (Parenthood has not), or let the users introduce them, and let the users identify duplicated series.

Really, if you’re going to roll this out, you do need to keep up with the current series first. Especially now that it has coincided with the new fall television season. I’m missing episodes from NBC, FOX, FX and others.

The TV episode database is woefully out of date for most current programs … and even the *show* database needs some serious cleaning to remove misspelled or conflicting duplicates. You need to spend the time to edit the lists, or the enhancements don’t do any good. Why not partner with TV.com or another site that maintains ep data? Or allow for the users to select season, episode # and add an ep name within the ep database on the fly? I know we can add to the comments, but it’s not the same as creating data other users could then use … and does away with the issue of continually trying to update or maintain the episode database? And there should also be a way to “report” duplicate show entries so that could get merged and cleaned up, too.

We know and we are really sorry. The good news is we are working hard to add this to the website and we do have a data source for episodes, it’s just a technical matter that we are resolving to make sure we get it right. Thanks so much for your patience while we work this out. Also users WILL be able to add episodes in the future, hopefully soon.

We are also going to add a flagging system for duplicates. It existed on the last version but just hasn’t been moved over yet.

    Thanks for your feedback!

We know! But we are a startup and sometimes we try to move a little faster on features that aren’t quite ready for primetime, but mainly because we want to get users to help us make things perfect, so we really appreciate your feedback!

As I replied to another user: “we are working hard to add this to the website and we do have a data source for episodes, it’s just a technical matter that we are resolving to make sure we get it right. Thanks again for your input.
